- The National Peace Officers Association was founded by retired Officer Joseph Jackson, Ansonia Ct Police Department. once a police officer, ALWAYS a police officer for LIFE.
The job and its duties to serve LAW ENFORCEMENT and the community remains in your heart. after serving 31 years and retired, I felt the need with other retired officers and active Police Officer's of different law enforcement agencies, to continue fighting side by side with law enforcement and community in the best way that we can.
Here we are happy to announce an association that serves as your second backup UNION. Your union, your association to be there to protect your rights and your voices in times of discrimination and in other matters that may come against you.
We have your back and we will stand by you. The goal of the National Peace Officers Association is to promote equality and professionalism in Law Enforcement. The objectives of the association are to create a fraternal/professional Association that provides its members and the community with career training, conferences and workshops to promote education and career advancement, mentoring and a strong commitment to community service.
Citizenship programs, mentor programs, reading programs in our elementary schools, training programs for individuals looking for a career in Law Enforcement and promotional workshops for our Law Enforcement Agencies are just a few of the contributions from our Association.
MISSION
the mission of the association is to eliminate prejudice and discrimination in the criminal justice system (particularly in Law Enforcement). To create a fraternal / professional association that provides support, advocacy, personal and professional development to its members. to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency. and lesson neighborhood tension in the communities, through awareness and role modeling, provide assistance to the public, and the gap between the community and police.
NPOA PREAMBLE
NPOA can make positive contributions to the Law Enforcement process in our nation, fraternally establishing ourselves as an association to assist. support and motivate change, for the betterment of all our citizens. we are aware that the people served by criminal justice system are varied ethnically and culturally, therefore, the system must be responsive to all the people of the community.
The NPOA , working cooperatively with Law Enforcement and the community, will seek to recruit for employment into the criminal justice system, the NPOA endeavors to serve the community and strive to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

- there may be occasions when you need to respond to adverse action based on disparate treatment and/or a pattern and practice by Law Enforcement agency.
- The NPOA will review your case and if there is merit, we will assist with the filling of EEO complaints.
- we will recommend attorneys for these adverse employment actions, and/or file with the U.S. Department of Justice directly.
